Day 266- Alnwick Castle (5/6/11)

Alnwick castle, one of the few castles that has people occupying it... =) it's occupied by the Percy family.. ( the dukes)

This guy behind me is some one by the name of Harry 'hotspur', went to war at the age of 8 and got knighted at the age of 11, at 14 he was called as a hero.. =) super yeng lo, but sadly no one actually knows how he looks like, in this monument his face was built according to his descendant which is the 12th duke (Ralph) that is staying in the castle now. How the horses stand on the monuments has it's own meaning, all four legs on the floor means that the hero died in a ripe old age or died in sickness, while one leg up means getting injured in battle and then dying in a few days time, two legs up means that the hero died in the battle field ( a show of honouring them). 'Hotspur' is a nick name, it appeared in William Shakespeare poem also.. =)

This is alwick castle , the field i'm standing is where they film harry potter's first film ( the broom lessons).. =)

This behind me is my dragon.. haha.. they usually associate knights with dragons.. hmm. i still wonder why..

this scenery is so beautiful that it can be frame.. =) me likey

This was use as a mark for harry potter's Hagrids house.. =)
When into the poisonous garden which taught me on the stuff that is not so easy to understand well you see, all the flowers and grass and leaves looks the same but some are really poisonous and that you wouldn't want to put it in your salad..

This... i think can create a potion that makes you lose your memory.. hmm.. cool huh.. but most probably you'll die eating it.. i don't know ..

Spot the green berries? this berries will choke you if you eat them.. * scary*

This is what they call a mandrake plant which the person who explain said that it looks like a human when it's pluck out and it screams, was mention in the bible and harry potter films.. =)
I also learn that rose mary is not good.. if a pregnant women bath with it in the bath tub she is most likely to get a miscarriage ... -_-

This may look pretty but a munch of it could kill you.. @@

the gate is locked, no body gets to go in unless there is a tour...=0 i got on to one.. yipee.. i really like learning about them, but the book of the explaination cost 5 pounds which i gave up.. =)

The toilet, really looks like you need to climb up to sit on you throne .. haha..

look at the statues on top? it was the duchess idea, you know why.. well let me tell you.. she loves garden gnomes and as she's rich and wanted something special so they were put on top of the castle.. =) there's a sad side.. a lot of them were smashed down by her son because he hated it very much but one day someone told him that they look like guards at night, so he stop hitting them down and it was a good thing, he only needed to put a guard on the look out and night because from far it looks like they're 4-5 guards guarding. =)

this is call as the barbican the reason we use this exit was because we were the last to go out, well the barbican is the most successful one in england, it is where they trap their enmies and stop them from attacking the castle, the enemies that were trap in there were thrown with dead mice, , human waste and most of the things that smells bad, they didn't know anything about infection or anything at that time, the only thing that was in their thoughts at that time was anything that smelss bad isn't good for the body.. =) so they'll first injured the enemies and then throw this stuff down.. =) got it?

After exiting, found this near the carpark on a bridge.. weird isn't it.. ?

After that we went to Newcastle China Town~

We had buffet and this is what i get.. =) me love..

After dinner we went to see the newcastle tilt bridge.. =) it looks like a normal bridge but google it and you'll see how wonderfully it's design.. =)
there's a walk way and the arch, it looks like an eyelid, when it's time for the boat to past trough the walkway would be folded up so that the boat could past .. it uses the rotation rather than lifting or bending.. =)
this place is really wonderful and God has been really gracious and great.. =)

Day 265-Berwick + Holy Island (4/6/11)

This is where we went early in the morning~

BERWICK!!! just taking the word that's all.. it's in the town hall.. they're having a antique sales in it..

Berwick is a town which is surrounded by fortified walls.. to prevent enemies.. =) look at the cannon~

look the bridge looks like the one in Harry Potter!!! in actual fact they are a few bridge that looks like this ....=p

Then we continue our journey to Holy Island~ An Island where you need to get in before the tide comes in and go out before the tide rises and cover the bridge~ an island which has only 200 citizens on it~

Famous food in Holy island~ crab sandwich, the yellow thing is crabs eggs..=) taste a little seafood-dy but it's edible.. =)

Me touching the 'holy water'.. no la.. it's just water that surrounds the holy island~ it's really cold.. but it doesn't have the really salty smell.. =)

there's a something like cathedral to train the greatest monks which need entrance fee.. =) the smart people like us climb up the hill and look from above =p
the circle thing looks like the rounds for meditation... looks really like cult~

Okay after photography session we need to leave look at the water.. reaching up to me soon *shievers*

The waters are rising but we still like taking photographs which may risk our life~

After Bamburgh to see the castle.. most of them didn't wanna walk further but i just like exploring so this is what i found~ a really vast ocean... wider than batu ferringgi..

The reason there's so many people in the kitchen? we almost died with the smoke..
we wanted to have bbq but it was too cold outside so we decided to do it indoors, bad idea.. when we lighted to bbq pit the smoke was too big the smoke alarm started ringing and we had to stop.. we pour water on it, the smoke was really big we tried to fan it out which few of us almost lost all our breath.. few of us really experience the really situation during a fire, where the carbon dioxide almost kill us luckily none of us was hurt~=) thank God! after a while we all left the room and let the smoke go out by itself.. =) really tiring but fun day~ thank God.. Day 264- Edinburg to Newcastle ( 3/6/11)

Woke up this morning and people that were suppose to wake up to get ready for our check out before 10 weren't ready~
After checking out we went back to the town to buy the last souvenirs.. didn't buy much because i'm going back.. hahahhaha... then i weren't satisfied because yesterday i couldn't find the angle with the blowpipe so i went in today to find it again and here i found it.. the only angle in the world that has a blow pipe~

Later had scottish salmon for lunch.. tasted like normal salmon.. haihz... wasted my 10 pounds.. =( the one my friends tasted yesterday was much bigger portion, tastier and cheaper.. bad!

When you all come i'll bring you all to the nice one kay~

After that we went to a wisky making factory~


there i found a horse and i touch it.. haha.. the eyes of the horse was really big and beautiful.. there was a smell but it's really beautiful.. love it lots.. =) waiting for my prince charming on a white horse.. hahaha
had gastric just now, prayed and had medicine~=) .. i'm fine now~

We reach Newcastle at around 9 something.. watch the sunset.. was really beautiful!!!!!
my friends went out to get food.. and the shop was closing in 5 minutes so they rush in and grab whatever they could.. and we had pasta for dinner.. =)
they say we're going to holy island tomorrow~ so i got to go and bath and sleep.. 1.47am now.. should i wake up at around 4 to wait for sunrise.. ? anyways.. i got to go.. chaoz.. really love you all and miss you all lots~

Day 263- 2nd Day in Edinburg (2/6/11)

Woke up this morning and everyone was out taking their morning walk, so after i got ready i went to have my own morning walk too.. =)

Saw this cool symbol.. it means stand there and take a picture from there.. =p .. learn it from a korean game show~

Than this is what you get.. well in Edinburg all most the buildings are stone color.. so if there's a little color in it it's counted as beautiful~

That's the castle up there...didn't go into it... will go when you all come over.. hehe...

there are a few clock towers in this city and i think this one is a cathedral made into a restaurant i guess.. or something like that~

Look at how beautiful the day was and how beautiful is the city~

it was a hot day~ beautiful flowers~we went on a free tour~ it was nice to know more about the history of the city~ basically it's parted into the new and old town.. the tour was on the old town part~

This drink was recommended.. orange + mango + peach i guess.. after drinking it.. it tasted like orange juice and it's sour which.. i didn't like it.. drank half and gave it to my friend...

in scotland how can you miss this... man in 'skirt' with a blow pipe.. it's not how they call it but .. hehe .. this is my blog so i write what i want.. =p

Had a bad headache in the afternoon so after walking for a while i went back to rest.. thank God i was well again at night~

After resting and praying went out to scout for food and saw people filming... i just love the set.. =)
After dinner at around 10pm we went to walk around the new town... daniel's brother was a good tour guide *that's not his profession but he just love knowing stuff* and thanks to him we really learn alot more about the city~

Day 262- Leaving to Edinburg (1/6/11)

Yo~ Ready to depart from~

MMU halls.. it's a manual honda civic.. look at the red button.. it says start engine... super cool lo.. I tried sitting in the driver seat and realize that i've forgotten how to drive~ =p go back Penang have to go and play in the parking lot first...

Last thing inserted and ready to go~

Reach Edinburg at around 7 something to 8pm~

got to find food~

I've got a sandwich and look at it~it's full of prawns not like the ones back home where they tell you it's prawn sandwich and then in it you'll only find few miserable small shrimps.. =p

After food we went walking around the old town... here's what we found~

A wisky shops~ well yeah it looks like a ghost in it it's because one of the famous thing in this city is ghost...*shivered*
We lived in a hostel which looks like a flat~ shared by many others.. opposite us is a pub which didn't stop it's noise till 3 something am.. =p.. really cold tonight~
